Green World in association with Dubai College of Tourism had recently concluded a Food Safety & Sanitation Training Program for 1st Term of Culinary Arts students. The training program was a comprehensive program from the basics of Food Safety working up towards an effective implementation of an ideal HACCP plan.
The students were trained in a variety of food safety subjects in the likes of Dubai Food code, food safety legislation, industry best practice in kitchen operations and a wider range of support operations in major food outlets.
A few highlights of the training delivery were:
- Visit to Alshaya Food Company in Dubai Industrial City (part of Alshaya Group).
Students were given a complete drill down on food safety induction and a factory tour of production kitchen that produce and supply ready to eat foods. These items were then delivered to various fast food outlets like Starbucks, PF Changs, Pizza Express and a whole lot more…
- Second highlight of the training program was for the trainer to observe students at a live kitchen and gauge how they showed knowledge of food safety and safe food handling in a professional kitchen. This session was carried out in Top Chef – Kitchen Studio.
