Another major milestone for Green World Group in finishing 8 day IOSH Managing Safely (2 batches) for Sonamet Yard in Angola. Sonamet Yard is located in Angola Lobito’s bay which is approximately 500 km south of Luanda in the Benguela province. At any given time, about 1400 employees are at work in this yard of which 32 Safety Officers cover the HSE aspects other than the subcontractors and Client’s Safety Officer are working in this yard. After a careful audit on their health and safety systems several training courses like NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, IOSH Working Safely were recommended. In the first phase IOSH Managing Safely was delivered to 30 safety officers in two batches over 8 days in Sonamet Yard at Lobito.

IOSH Managing Safely is usually delivered over 4 days with an assessment on the last day and project work. The important part on this course is training on how to do a risk assessment, how to control the hazards in a workplace and how to do and accident / incident investigation. By using superb quality animated graphics the concept of risk and how to calculate risk is clearly defined in this course. A variety of board games and first class technical content make the training much fun and what delegate need to know in practice.
